If you are in Dubai you have to visit the Dubai museums. The Dubai museums show you the unique & rich heritage of the city/U.A.E. and culture & tradition by old print, maps, pottery, glassware, handcraft and sculptures. Some museums in Dubai have life size displays/dioramas and working models. They show you how life was in pre oil Dubai by scenes from Dubai's pearl fishing era at the Creek in traditional Arab houses and dhows(traditional Arab sailing vessel).

Some things go way back, some artefacts are dated from settlements and graves that existed more than 4.000 years ago. Other eras are f.e. military history or architecture.
